In May President Jackie and SI Tamworth member June Alldritt organised a stall at Two gates School fun day to raise money for WellChild and Acorns Children’s Hospice.

A Poppy Party for the 90th Anniversary of the Royal British Legion took place at President Jackie’s home on Saturday June 11th.  We were ably assisted by members of  1122 Marmion Squadron ATC and Tamworth Sea Cadets who helped to keep the party running smoothly!

The event raised £380 and this wonderful cake, decorated with poppies. was one of the raffle prizes.

In August members of SI Tamworth held a garden party for the residents of Park Farm.

President Jackie led the afternoon singing.

In November SI Tamworth welcomed a group of visitors from Rwanda. These included three residents and two leaders from a local Methodist church.

Members took the visitors to lunch before Tamworth Mayor, Jeremy Oates, entertained them at the own Hall where the visitors were fascinated by the building and especially the display of the town’s silver.

The guests then visited the Castle grounds before going to St Editha’s Church.
