Bee project

All members of SI Tamworth have been involved for the last eight months on a project to raise awareness of the plight of bees. It has involved members talking about their experiences of bee keeping, and researching into numerous books, newspaper articles and TV programmes.

Members divided up into four groups for this activity and the result has been four very different pamphlets each considering the decline of the bee population and offering some solutions that everyone can help with to improve the situation.

Councillor Lees Bates was presented with copies of all leaflets at the January business meeting.

Members have also taken part in an online campaign to reduce the amount of toxic pesticides used on land frequented by bees.

The club has also adopted a beehive in the Midlands (www.adoptabeehive.co.uk).

President Julia and the members of SI Tamworth hope that you enjoy reading the pamphlets. Please feel free to download any of them and distribute them to friends and family.
