President’s Message

President Pauline would like to assure you of a warm welcome to the Taunton Club.  We are a friendly group of women who use our various skills to make a difference in the local, national and international communities.

One of the principal ways we support our local communities is through our Annual Swimathon Weekend, held in February each year.  In February 2012 we raised over £16,000 benefitting the charities St Margaret’s Hospice, Citizens’ Advice Bureau, SURE and Sands.

This year my charity will be the local branch of the National Blind Children’s Society (www.nbcs.org.uk). It is surprising how many young children suffer from Macular Degeneration, Bilateral Maculopathy and various other visual impairments.  They need special books, computers and help within their school environment.

Internationally, Taunton club supports a little girl in Ghana through SOS children’s villages (www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk)
