Message from Regional President Rhian

I would like to thank all Wales South Region for the support and friendship in electing me as Regional President.  The Change of Insignia at the Brighton Conference was different this year as it was held in the afternoon.  This was not the same ceremony with pomp and circumstance but Wales South soon made up for this during the regional get together at the Grand Hotel.  I was delighted to welcome SI President Alice with past Federation Presidents Carwen Wynne- Howells and Anne Dawson to this.

My theme for my year is

‘ Friendship, Fellowship and FUN!’

Friendship

 being friends/friendly within our
federation,region,clubs, to each other and to prospective new members.  It would be great to ‘extend a hand of friendship’
to other clubs in forging friendship links. Many of our clubs actively do this
encompassing educational projects.

Fellowship

                                                                    companionship, we are an association of
people who share common beliefs and we work in partnership with some other like
minded associations but we should now open up this partnership.

                                                          FUN

                                                     enjoyable activities to promote Soroptimism to all
ages in order to achieve our goals to increase our membership and to bring our
region together

                                                           Facing the Future together!

Our friendship weekend will be fun with workshops on a variety of themes.
Our regional party will be fun and will commence my year with a Musical theme and it will be held at the Liberty Stadium on November 18th.

 My Friendship weekend is Friday April 20th and Saturday April 21st at the Village Hotel, SA1, Swansea.
It will be a FUN weekend.

Regional AGM will be on Saturday June 16 at Llywelyn Hall, Penllergaer, Swansea just off Jnc 47 M4.

I am looking forward to my role as your Regional President and meeting with all 20 clubs.
I would like to ask that all Clubs contact me as soon as possible regarding attending Club events/ lunches/dinners.

I wish to thank my club, SI Swansea, for their support and to the lady who introduced me to Soroptimism, sadly no longer with us, Miss Beryl Thomas. She was a long serving member of Swansea and always looked to the future – she must have seen something in me to be, not only President of Swansea but also of Region. I hope that I will do her proud and of course all
Wales South.
