Programme Action – Regional Meetings

May 2012

The afternoon session started with a short film on the need for prison reform for women described on prison reform’s you-tube channel as a film which promotes discussion – it certainly did just that.  After the film Hilary from SI Carmarthen gave her response as a JP which was backed up by one of the other ladies also a JP. Concerns were rasied over the way in which the sentence structure does not work and also the impact custodial sentences have on children especially as there is no women’s prison in Wales.

After the presentations from clubs about their activies Kay shared a powerpoint presentation about CORD.

A summary of the afternoon’s session including the interesting slides on which countries have signed against cluster munitions and which countries have ratified this decision can be found here.
