Supper Party 11 June 2011 & Coffee Morning 2 July 2011

On 11 June, West Birmingham hosted a Supper Party at Gill’s house (Gill & Erica organisers) in aid of the main  Presidents’ charity this year - St Mary’s Hospice. The sum raised was an amazing £422, raised from supper tickets, quiz, raffle and donations.

It was delightful to see partners and friends (including those from other Clubs) enjoying a happy evening of good food and conversation!

This was followed by a Coffee Morning at Erica’s on 2 July 2011 when £329 was raised! Wonderful home baking, bric a brac, raffle, quiz, home-made cards, second hand book sales all helped to raised this amount.

Congratulations to the organisers of both these events! Not only is £751 (before gift aid) an excellent amount to raise, but we are also helping to raise awareness of the work and support of St Mary’s Hospice.

We recently had a talk from a member of St Mary’s Hospice about the work they do there and hope to visit the Hospice soon. One of our Members also receives support from the Hospice and was also able to answer some of the questions raised by Members.
