President’s message
The Club was founded in 1976 and our present day membership is 28. We are a diverse, lively and active group of women who use our skills and talents to make a difference to the lives of others.
As President of the Woking branch of Soroptimist International I am blessed with the support of the Officers and Members of the Club – it is not an office that one has to undertake alone.
Soroptimists the world over are working locally and globally to improve the status and well-being of women and their families.
Our Club theme for this year is ‘REACHING OUT.’ During this year we hope we will continue to ‘Reach Out’, not only to our own but to the wider community. Our new Long Term Project will be launched at the Soroptimist International Convention in Montreal in July and the theme of ‘Education’ affords us as a Club and as an organisation the opportunity to ‘Reach Out’ with continued support of local projects such as ‘Let’s Read’ and ‘BeePlus’.
If, like me, you want to make a difference to your community and to the world, together with like-minded women, why not get in touch?
We meet twice a month, for a dinner meeting with a speaker on the first Tuesday of each month and on the third Tuesday for our Business Meeting where we discuss and agree the projects we wish to be involved in, locally, nationally and internationally.
Please look at our Club programme of events and meetings – we will certainly give you a warm welcome if you would like to join in any of our activities. Please contact us for more information via the ‘Want to know more?’ page.
