SI Salisbury were in the Salisbury Journal for making and distributing Twiddlemuffs to a care home

HANDMADE Twiddlemuffs have been delivered to care home residents living with dementia.

Members of Soroptimist International (SI) of Salisbury, and their friends and family, have been busy creating the gifts, which were presented to the Order of St John team at Bemerton Lodge last Tuesday.

Twiddlemuffs are knitted, crocheted and sewn items with tactile attachments, that people living with dementia find soothing and comforting.

The 24 items were handed over by Eleanor Evans, Salisbury Soroptimist programme action chairman, to the team at Bemerton Lodge, including area manager Linda Knifton, manager Luci Hammett and volunteer and events manager Karen Johnson.
