All victims and survivors of domestic abuse, no matter their age, deserve support. But right now, a gap in the data means the experiences of older people are being ignored.
The Crime Survey of England and Wales does not collect any statistics on victims and survivors of domestic abuse over the age of 74. Without these figures, nobody knows the true extent of the problem, or whether these older people are getting the help they need.
Domestic abuse doesn’t have an age limit. Help us to make sure the Domestic Abuse Bill doesn’t either.
Please sign a letter to the UK Government calling on them to amend the Bill to ensure data on all victims and survivors of domestic abuse is collected.
We can’t let older people be the Domestic Abuse Bill’s blind spot.
