New SIGBI statue at the National Memorial Arboretum

We are delighted to let you know that our new statue at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, UK has now been installed.

The COVID-19 pandemic meant that the original event, planned for November 2020, could not go ahead, so a low-key installation attended by 4 members took place. However, when restrictions in the UK relax further, we hope to hold another event to celebrate the statue being installed. We will release details nearer the time.

There is a QR code on the base of the statue telling people about Soroptimism and the work we do and celebrating our 100 years. The train that takes visitors around the National Memorial Arboretum now goes past our plot and the commentary talks about Soroptimists and our purpose and achievements.

Now that the National Memorial Arboretum is open to (pre-booked) visitors again, please do take a trip to visit our plot.
