{"id":4718,"date":"2020-10-21T11:52:03","date_gmt":"2020-10-21T11:52:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/aberdeen\/?p=4718"},"modified":"2020-10-21T12:56:09","modified_gmt":"2020-10-21T12:56:09","slug":"tackling-food-poverty-on-2-a-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/aberdeen\/2020\/tackling-food-poverty-on-2-a-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Tackling Food Poverty on \u00a32 a day"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The magnificent sum of \u00a3923 has been raised in sponsorship by Ruth, Audrey, Janice, Liz and Marion for the local charity and social enterprise <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfine.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cfine<\/a> (Community Food Initiatives North East).<\/p>\n<p>Cfine fight against food poverty through their food bank and support for individuals and families living in poverty. They provide a range of support and services for and with disadvantaged, vulnerable and low income individuals, families and communities in North East Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>Their social enterprise delivers fruit and vegetable boxes throughout Aberdeen and the profits are reinvested into maintaining and expanding a holistic system for people facing difficulty.<\/p>\n<p>Ruth, Audrey, Janice, Liz and Marion took part in the &#8220;Appetite for Change&#8221; challenge to live on \u00a32 a day or less for a week and this to include all meals and drinks &#8211; quite a challenge for some of the coffee addicts!
