At our June meeting Paul Sample, from Derby and Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Trust and James Gracey, DCC Childrens Services spoke about Mental Health Services for Young People and Children within our County. This included the statistic that 10% of our under 17 year olds will have mental health issues and the types of services and support that are available to families and young children. A lot of work is now being done through our schools, with a ‘whole school approach’ available to encourage well-being and positive mental health across all age ranges. This was a thought provoking and interesting talk.
Our next fund raiser for local charities, is our Summer Fair on Saturday 20th July, 11.30-3pm, at the Palmer Morewood Social Club Alfreton, where we will have a variety of stalls, games and entertainment. You are very welcome to call in.
