Our annual AGM was held in Parc Menai with some members joining by Zoom.
\nReports from Programme Action (Sian), Treasurer (Joan) and Secretary (Lin) followed.
\nSeveral nominations were made for charities to support in 22\/23 and we will do our best:-
\nCarer’s Outreach, Gorwel, North Wales Wildlife Trust, St David’s Hospice, Ty Gobaith, North Wales Society for the Blind and Blind Veterans.
\nMarianne had the pleasure of introducing one of our new members, Rhian, to our club. \"\"<\/a>
\nIn the absence of Gudrun, Joan W gave us an Ode to 2021\/22.
\nOde to 2021\/22<\/strong>
\nSo what can I say for the year that went by?
\nWhen none of our meetings were held eye to eye.
\nBut were we despondent, all set for defeat?
\n\u2018Spite square eyes from zooming, we managed a treat.
\nGood speakers were chosen for our sheer delight.
\nWhilst others gave insight and thought for their plight
\nThe questions we raised added more to debate
\nAnd thank you to all we were glad to relate.
\nTy Gobaith for starters, which meets such a need.
\nLikewise the Llyn Outward bound venture indeed.
\nThen off to tour Moel y Ci co-op we went
\nFamiliar to those on the lockdown walks bent.
\nOne evening in June when it rained and was cold
\nWe went to Zimbabwe for sunshine-pure gold.
\nJafuta\u2019s success was inspiring to all
\nAnd we finished in splendour at Victoria fall (s)
\nThe Autumn and Winter brought speakers who told
\nOf services given, to young and to old.
\nFrom mental wellbeing held at Abby road
\nTai Chi for dementia, to lighten the load
\nThe CHC lady explained what they do
\nComplaints and improvements, they\u2019re there to pursue.
\nAnd Awyr Las functions to take any money
\nTo make life for patients a little more sunny.
\nThe lady who showed us the dark sky at night
\nSaid, switch off your lights and enjoy sheer delight
\nAnd how better to banish a stressful old time
\nThan with gongs playing softly, it was so sublime.
\nOur local MS was the next to the fold
\nWith Sian\u2019s talk informative- so I am told
\nFor I was in Iceland, AWOL and not found.
\nGone swimming in geysers, with snow on the ground.
\nAnd so to the best bits, with friends reunited
\nIn cold winter carparks, sure all were invited.
\nFor the Refuge and homeless our aim was to please
\nWith small gifts of kindness, their troubles to ease.
\nAnd then off to parties at Jenny\u2019s, The Glyn
\nFor Xmas festivities, so to begin.
\nWhilst summer, in sunshine and warm evening air
\nProsecco and pizza, sheer joy I declare
\nSo thanks to all those who have kept us together.
\nThus difficult times, we were able to weather.
\nGood bye to the old year and welcome the new.
