As part of our club\u2019s 75th anniversary President Marianne introduced 75 Days of Kindness to Nature starting on the 1st January – 15th March (75 days) which also encompassed participating in conservation and environmental scheme surveys.<\/p>\n

Here are some of the things our members undertook during this time:<\/p>\n

Subscriptions <\/strong>to North Wales Wildlife Trust, National Trust, WWF -UK World Wildlife Fund and RSPB<\/p>\n

Listened<\/strong> to speaker at February Club meeting : Gem Simmons in February- representing: British Divers Marine Life Rescue (bdmlr.org.uk<\/a>), North Wales Seal Research Organisation (nwsro.org<\/a>) and Marine Environmental Monitoring (strandings.com<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Congratulated<\/strong> Secretary Vikki Williams who completed 75 Cold Water Dips during the year raising awareness of clean seas and rivers<\/p>\n

Participated<\/strong> in Big Garden Bird Watch 2024<\/p>\n

Participated<\/strong> in The BIG Plastic Count\u00a0\u00a011-17th March<\/p>\n

Visited<\/strong> North Wales Wildlife Trust Exhibition at Storiel, Bangor.<\/p>\n

Undertook <\/strong>Harvest Mouse Survey<\/p>\n

Supported<\/strong> Green Peace – open letter plastics Dove<\/p>\n

Distributed <\/strong>at our 75th Charter Lunch in June and then again at our 75th Celebration Tea all guests packets of wild flower seeds as a gift to take away<\/p>\n

Recycled <\/strong>and\/or Repurposed<\/strong><\/p>\n

Clothes\u00a0–\u00a0Rownd a Rownd, Clothes Ty Gobaith – Gift Aid, Food Bank Donations, Food Recycling – small brown bin, Paper \/ cardboard, Plastic, Tins, Glass jars\/ bottles, Batteries, Plastic Carrier Bags, Electrical Goods, Spectacles, Garden waste, Plastic Bottle tops \u2013 exterior furniture project, Crisp Packets\u00a0\u2013 Homeless blanket project, Stamps \u2013 North Wales Society for Blind<\/p>\n

Participated <\/strong>in Volunteering and Litter Picking<\/p>\n

Door step litter picking-\u00a0\u00a0outside front door, supporting local nature reserves, helping at Food Bank<\/p>\n

Changed <\/strong>to reduced carbon footprint purchases<\/p>\n

Toilet Paper (Oceans), Kitchen Rolls (Oceans), Laundry Sheets (Oceans), Bamboo Toothbrushes, Bamboo Toilet Rolls and purchasing other eco friendly cleaning and laundry products<\/p>\n

Reduced <\/strong>consumption of animal based foods (one plant based day per week for a year is equivalent to taking a car off the road for a month – for each person who participates)<\/p>\n

Repaired<\/strong>\u00a0Electrical Appliances<\/p>\n

Kettles, Iron, Vacuum, Washing Machine, Fridge\/ Freezer<\/p>\n

Reduced <\/strong>transport footprints<\/p>\n

Investing in Rail Passes\/ Bus Passes – on the bus \/ walking instead of jumping in the car, Driving Hybrid Car<\/p>\n

Changed <\/strong>in the home<\/p>\n

Light bulbs for LED, installed solar panels, added insulation<\/p>\n

Supported <\/strong>In the garden<\/p>\n

Bird Feeders with many different seeds and food, ice free and clean Water Stations, Compost Bins, scattered Wild Flower Seeds, planted more Wild hedgerow – brambles & berries, Hedgehog habitat, installed and renewed Bird boxes, planting with food for moths, butterflies and bees\u00a0in mind<\/p>\n

Delaying spring tidy up and cutting back (to increase habitat for invertebrates) and pledging to delay grass mowing\/leave patches of long grass<\/p>\n
