Others persuaded the many visitors to buy raffle tickets, knitted items and bric a brac.\u00a0 More than thirty garages were open and a dozen table tops offered everything from jewellery to art work.\u00a0 One group of very young ladies had made hair ribbons and slides to sell on the day.
