During Lockdown members have been able to greet each other only through What’s App and Zoom meetings but we have missed seeing each other face to face.\u00a0 It was decided to arrange for an Afternoon Tea at Bantock Park for those members who were able to attend.\u00a0 The report back was that it was ‘a lovely meet up’ and ‘super food’<\/p>\n

These photos were taken in 2011 but look at the change in dress for 2012.<\/p>\n

Barbara was the only adult member who was able to \u2018run\u2019 the course all the others walked sedately.\u00a0 She\u2019s been training on a daily basis- well done Barbara!<\/p>\n

For the 8th year members, President\u00a0Elaine\u00a0and friends Raced for Life in support of Cancer Research.\u00a0\u00a0Six intrepid walkers donned their gear in\u00a0reasonable weather this year and walked with well over 2000 other women around West Park in Wolverhampton, whilst June\u2019s grandaughters joined Barbara and the \u2018runners\u2019.\u00a0 The photos show that whilst raising money for a good cause it is still possible to have fun!\u00a0 The blue tee shirts in previous years said Bilston Soroptimist do it\u2026and on the back \u2026in the park\u00a0 but this year Bilston Soroptimists had gone pink and sparkly.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately due to holidays and ill health a fewer number of members took part in the 2013 Race for Life in Wolverhampton.\u00a0 However as the photo shows the numbers were incresed by members grandchildren & friends.\u00a0 Please note the new T shirts- always promoting Bilston Club. Well done girls!<\/p>\n

Congratulations to Elaine who despite her health problems managed to walk the distance with the other members of Bilston club.<\/p>\n

Craft Evening.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For the third year running member Jan\u00a0 organised a craft session for members to extend their craft skills by making \u2018safety pin\u2019 bracelets and \u2018crinkled\u2019 scarves. \u00a0It was a most enjoyable if not taxing evening for those of us with fine motor impairment!\u00a0 However the Pimms helped and the results were very good.<\/p>\n

\u2018Craft Teacher\u2019 3rd from left with some of her pupils.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_media_grid grid_id=”vc_gid:1587462284608-c6704431-55c3-8″ include=”663,662,661″][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Another craft session for those members and friends who wanted to learn how to make a natural wreath for the front door-or wherever -depending on the outcome!\u00a0 Jan\u2019s\u00a0 husband Geoff had collected willow and members all took their own extras to complete the task.\u00a0 The evening was great fun albeit a little messy and some of the wreaths looked really good.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”754″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Garden Party<\/strong><\/p>\n

For many years\u00a0Past President\u00a0Nerys and her husband Allan have opened their garden during the summer to enable members and friends to socialise but also raise money for the President\u2019s charities.\u00a0 This year was no exception and even the weather allowed us to enjoy ourselves.<\/p>\n
