Joining forces to improve the lives of local people

Birkenhead Soroptimists hosted Pauline Daniel’s fabulous one woman show ‘Shirley Valentine’ at Pilgrim Street Arts Centre in partnership with Creative Youth Development. The two shows raised £4,182 for local charities. The money will be distributed to:

  • Creative Youth Development,
  • Wirral Women’s Aid,
  • Charles Thompson Mission,
  • Arrowe Park Neonatal Unit and
  • Wirral S.O.B.S. (Survivors of Bereavement and Suicide).

All wonderful local charities making life better for Wirral people.

Pauline Daniels gave two stupendous performances and richly deserved the standing ovations she received from the audiences. Pauline clearly enjoyed the part!

Creative Youth Development formerly known as Wirral Youth Theatre/Youth Arts offers a wide range of arts based activities for young people. These include young people with disabilities, young people who are looked after, young carers and young people who are affected by mental illness in their families. This work takes place at Pilgrim Street Arts Centre and across Wirral in schools, community and youth settings.

Deputy Mayor Councillor Ann McLachlan enthusiastically supported the event. She had a fantastic evening and is seen pictured with President Linda Smith, Pauline Daniels and the young people. Shirley Val 1
