Members of SI Bolton jumped at the chance of publicising their work on Bolton FM one Saturday morning in January.  The job fell to one of SI Bolton’s long standing members, Susan Whitter, a past President and current Secretary of the Club. After Susan was introduced by a fanfare, she went on to give background information about our Bolton Club and its members.  She then went on to talk about all the organisations and charities that SI Bolton have been involved with over the years such as BRASS, Fortalice, Urban Outreach and Street Angels. The DJ,  Rob and his assistant Dorothy, told the public about the SI Bolton web site and how to find it.  Also where the Club meets and how often and how to make contact with the Club.     SI Bolton members organised a surprise afternoon tea party for Mollie on the 14th of January at President Frankie’s house.  Mollie has been a member of SI Boton since August  1977 – a staggering 37years!  She served as President in 1986/7.. Mollie was of high renown and a household name in the Bolton area and beyond in her working life as a baker and caterer. She was one of the original committee that started Bolton Hospice and she funded the first Hospice shop in Bolton. Sad Post Script Mollie sadly died on May 1st 2015 and several of our members attended her funeral at St. Peter’s Church.  The Eulogy delivered by family members was based on Mollie’s own journal which she had kept for many years.  Her voice was heard loud and clear punctuated with amusing stories and observations from her everyday life.

The plane will turn soon and return safely to earth, descending slowly and gracefully to the runway so far below, so to sit back and enjoy it would be a very good idea. Then again, one could open the door and jump out; freefall 10,000 feet at 125mph and open a parachute at 5,000feet to float gently down to the ground. Sounded good to me. How does one describe that? The instant of falling
