Bournemouth soroptimists and their supporters turned out on a very wet evening recently to try their hand at playing skittles at the Hamworthy Sports and Social Club.
It was a very sociable event with many competitive spirits fighting for the top prize. Congratulations went to the winner who was the President’s husband who was followed closely by husband and wife team, Jools and Kiera, and Eddie a credible third.
The raffle raised £150 towards #steamchallenge2020 which encourages Year 8 and Year 9 local girls to take up careers in STEAM industries. The challenge is to “create a solution to help people in the poorest parts of our world”, particularly focusing on problems due to hunger, water, health, lack of education, poor housing and transport.
