SI Bournemouth members welcomed their new President, Catherine Beal, at the recent Annual General Meeting held at the West Hants Tennis Club.<\/p>\n

It was a busy meeting of \u2018congratulations\u2019 and \u2018thank you\u2019s\u2019 to the many members who work as a team of friends who are like-minded women, have fun and work on projects that help improve the lives of women and girls locally, nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n

Pres Catherine thanked outgoing Pres Liz Dominey who had shared the role with Catherine throughout the last year. There was much swapping and presentation of insignia with thanks given to Past Pres, Shirley Thompson, and a welcoming to Pres Elect, Julie Lankshear.<\/p>\n

Pres Catherine also had great pleasure in presenting long service awards to Deirdre Castle for 30 years and Hilda Brownlow for 25 years.<\/p>\n

In her opening speech as President of SI Bournemouth 2019-20, Catherine invited members to look beyond themselves more than usual and to change perspective slightly by committing to C.L.A.N.G.E.R.S\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026..<\/p>\n

C<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 make CONNECTIONS<\/strong><\/span> with people in the street e.g. smiling<\/p>\n

L<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 LEARN<\/strong><\/span> something everyday<\/p>\n

A<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 be ACTIVE<\/strong><\/span> by enjoying five portions of fun everyday<\/p>\n

N<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 take NOTICE<\/strong><\/span> of our environment, the birds, sky etc<\/p>\n

G<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 GIVE<\/strong><\/span> back to our communities on a regular basis<\/p>\n

E<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 EAT<\/strong><\/span> well otherwise you will feel grumpy!<\/p>\n

R<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 RELAX<\/strong><\/span> and take time out for yourself<\/p>\n

S<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 SLEEP<\/strong><\/span> well as it is essential to be in good form.<\/p>\n
