Lifeskills-Learning for Living<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lifeskills-Learning for Living is a permanent regional safety education and training centre built as a realistic<\/strong> \"\"<\/a>village and housed in the Create Centre close to Bristol City Centre.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Andy Townsend , Manager of the Centre for the last 18 years, attended S.I. Bristol\u2019s business meeting on 25th February 2019 to inform club members about Lifeskills which has been chosen as one of two Club charities for the next two years.
\nThe Centre relies on 100 trained volunteers to deliver its core programmes to year 6 children ( in small groups), special educational needs, adults with learning difficulties, older people and early years.<\/p>\n

The Centre relies heavily on fundraising and the support of local organisations and businesses.\u00a0 Andy outlined ways for S.I.Bristol to support Lifeskills by fundraising, volunteering ( or encouraging others to do so ), joining the board of directors, networking, providing professional expertise and publicising the charity as widely as possible. A visit to the Centre for members of SI Bristol will be arranged so that they can experience first hand this unique, interactive educational facility.\u00a0 A summer garden party will hopefully kick start the fundraising effort on 29th June<\/p>\n

The National Centre for Integrative Medicine <\/strong>(Logo to follow)<\/p>\n

The other charity for the two year 2019-2021 is the National Centre for Integrative Medicine (NCIM).\u00a0 On 8th July 2019 at the SI Bristol\u2019s Supper meeting, Dr Elizabeth Thompson, CEO of NCIM, will be talking about the work, which focuses on inspiring health and wellbeing. NCIM is supporting the fundraising garden party on 29th June.<\/strong><\/p>\n

NCIM\u2019s Holistic Doctor service is a new approach to healthcare that gives you control of your own health and wellbeing and makes the most of conventional, lifestyle and holistic approaches.
\nSome people see the logo for NCIM as two hearts \u2013 one the right way up and one up-side-down \u2013 while others see it as two plasters.<\/p>\n
