Cycling fever hit Bristol as all types of riders and abilities rode through traffic-free city centre streets to raise funds for their favourite charities. A formidable pair of Soroptimists made sure that the route they were responsible for was kept clear for the cyclists!<\/p>\n<p>Induction of new Rotary President \u2026<br \/>\nThe annual changeover of Presidents for Bristol Rotary took place on Monday 29 June. SI Bristol, who have a special relationship with Rotary, were represented at this annual event which began with a short church service in The Lord Mayor\u2019s Chapel opposite College Green \u2013 a beautiful setting and building. The Revd Harold Clarke who conducted the service had been a Bristol Rotarian. He spoke of his recent trip to Sri Lanka where he\u2019d met Rotary\u2019s International President Ravi Ravindran whose presidential theme had been \u201cBe a gift to the world\u201d. This is something Soroptimists aspire to! That by taking our gifts of time, talent, and knowledge, and working together, we can make a genuine difference in the lives of others and in our world.<\/p>\n<p>Linda Hooper, Rotary\u2019s outgoing President, has certainly made a difference during her year of Office and in a variety of ways. Most notably has been her work and support for education and fresh water projects in Nepal both before and since disaster struck that country. Brian Snary (husband of one of our own Soroptimists) is their incoming President for 2015-2016.
