Congratulations to our member Valerie Burton on your contribution to World Climate Day, clearing litter from the beach while on holiday in the Scillies!
Recently the Club raised funds to pay for trees for planting around the Borough. These have now been planted by East Staffs Borough Council at Shobnall Fields.
As part of the tree planting initiative we also planted native trees at Rosliston Forestry Centre during the winter.
Burton Soroptimists are keen supporters of action on environmental issues such as recycling and resistance to climate change. Several of our members took part in the recent Show the Love campaign by the Climate Coalition. Here are a couple of the green hearts we displayed in our windows, along with the explanatory poster.
Made by Valerie Burton and displayed in her window.
