June Bould is the new President of SI Cannock & District; she was given the chain of office by out-going President Val Jones at the AGM held recently.
\nJune joined SI Cannock & District 4 years ago and has been involved with all of the projects the club has taken on in that time. She worked in the NHS for 16 years as a Speech & Language Therapy Technical Instructor working with adults at both Cannock & Stafford hospitals and also in the Community.
\nPresident June began her year by congratulating Val on the successful year she had as President of the Club and presented her with flowers as a token of the Club\u2019s appreciation.<\/p>\n

June told members that her hopes are that club members continue to work together in the spirit of friendship, helping women and girls locally, nationally and internationally. She also stressed that SI is a voluntary organisation and members need to enjoy all they do.
\nJune\u2019s chosen charity is Phoenix at St Giles – Children and Young Person\u2019s
\nCommunity Bereavement Service. The development of Phoenix as a community bereavement service ensures that all children, young people, their families and others can access support before and after the death of someone close to them.
\nJune\u2019s motto for the year is: Life is a Journey not a destination. She quoted Ralph Waldo Emerson, an American lecturer, philosopher and poet who wrote:
\n\u201cWe are not meant to rush through life\u2026 it\u2019s about savoring every moment of each day. It\u2019s about how we learn the lessons along the way. It\u2019s about the hardships and the challenges that we are sometimes faced with and how we work through them. It\u2019s about the joy and happiness that we experience. It\u2019s about learning what self-care is all about. It\u2019s about uncovering who we truly are. Life is about so many things and when we rush through it we miss the beauty it has to offer with each breath we take. It is a journey well worth exploring\u201d.<\/p>\n
