For ten months NHS, care home and domiciliary care staff \u00a0have been continuing their work to look after the ill, the elderly and the vulnerable \u2013 and all whilst wearing PPE, which is certainly not the most comfortable way to work.\u00a0 In the first lockdown, Cannock Soroptimists collected almost 1,200 items of hand cream, face cream and other toiletries to deliver to hospitals and care homes so that staff could ease the burden on their skin. \u00a0Many families locally are struggling because of the many aspects of the pandemic, including redundancy.\u00a0 Soroptimists were able to help some of these families by donating collections of food to Cannock and Rugeley Food Banks.<\/p>\n

SI Cannock & District felt it was important to show all of these people that they are still being thought of and so another collection has begun; members, friends and neighbours have again been incredibly generous.\u00a0 St Giles Hospice was in need of hand cream and un-perfumed shower gel, Care Homes had a need for hand cream, shower gel and shampoo, whilst local families were in need of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and liquid soap.\u00a0 Deliveries have been made \u2013 and items are still being donated. Soroptimists are so pleased to continue their donations of laptops to Bridgtown Primary School \u2013some are already being used by children, enabling them to continue their education during lockdown, members are in the process of cleaning other donated laptops of all data, ready for delivery.<\/p>\n
