The Christmas spirit came a little early this year as Cannock Soroptimists launched their \u2018Give a
\nChild a Book for Christmas\u2019 campaign. In partnership with the fabulous Rotary Books4Home
\nCharity they wanted to ensure that those children who would not otherwise own a book will
\nhave access to the joy\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a> of reading, especially at Christmas time.
\nSo, as they did earlier in the year, to coincide with half term, they launched an appeal for pre-
\nloved books to be taken to four libraries in the area that kindly accepted them on their behalf.
\nAgain, the local community did not disappoint! An amazing 1,881 books were donated! These
\nwere taken to the Books4Homes charity where they will be distributed via schools to children in
\ntime for Christmas. It has also meant that these books will be loved again rather than thrown
\naway
\nThis has taken the total books donated by Cannock Soroptimists to date to over 13,500 which is
\nfabulous and a wonderful indicator of the generosity of local people especially in these difficult
