SI Cirencester vintage Tea Party & Handbag Auction
Saturday 2 July
A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO ALL WHO ATTEND AND ALL WHO DONATED
SI Cirencester held a Vintage Tea and handbag auction in aid of local charity Signpost’s annual summer trip.
This year they are organising a trip to Western-Super-Mare.
We raised £1500.00. President Pat and Anne C, our Fundraiser member would like to thank everyone who attended, helped out on the day or
contributed cakes and handbags.
This really is true Soroptimism working at local level.
Cirencester Signpost extends a warm welcome to all who are lonely, experiencing financial hardship, are vulnerable or marginalised; often due to unemployment,
debt, bereavement, mental health problems or addictions that can limit your quality of life. On Monday evenings from 6.30pm at Ashcroft Church,
we provide a two course meal with drinks. During the winter months from November through to Easter on Saturday mornings, a variety of
cooked breakfasts, are on offer at St. Peters Hall. Our meals are free of charge. We provide a time to talk and be listened to where everyone is valued.
Our aim is to promote hope and encouragement. We work in a child friendly environment; all of our key workers are DBS checked. We offer support to
those wishing to tackle problems that limit their quality of life. We can point to local agencies that are able to help address personal needs. We are referrers
for Cirencester Foodbank. Signpost is run and funded by Christian volunteers and supporters as a practical demonstration of the love of Jesus to all.

A Busy Wintertime
The winter period has been a busy time at Cirencester Signpost. Throughout the winter season, we served over 700 meals at our Big Breakfast sessions and handed out
around 40 food parcels in the Christmas/New Year period. We have a special place in our hearts for those sleeping outdoors and we have been able to provide sleeping bags,
jackets, boots and thermal clothing. Additionally, we provided support to link up with homelessness services, registration with GPs, shower facilities and haircuts.
At Signpost we believe in giving dignity to all, not merely talking about it but living it out. We are thankful to the shoppers at Waitrose in Cirencester who supported
the Signpost Big Breakfast by raising £577 through the green token community scheme.
Summer Family Day Out to Weston Super Mare. We are delighted to announce that our family day out this summer is on Saturday 30th July.
Having had trips to Bristol Zoo and Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm in recent years, we have decided to go to the seaside so Weston Super Mare is our destination.
Coaches will be departing from Ashcroft Church at 9.30am, however it is important to note that everyone will need to register at 9am. A packed lunch
will be available to all. Families are free to spend the day as they please with so much on offer, the pier, beach or town centre for starters. We are due to
leave Weston at 4.30pm. In order to book your place, names must be given to Juliette. At Signpost we are looking forward to a great day.
