Current Club Projects<\/h4>\n

The club has been working with Cirencester College T-Level students to plan, compile and deliver a directory of information for women and girls in the local area. The planned directory will cover well-being, health, families and parenting, community and local groups and support groups. The club hired space at the Cirencester Growth Hub to give the students and authentic work placement experience<\/p>\n

The club will hold an Open Evening on Wednesday September 3rd 2025 at the C- Hub in Bingham House, right next door to The Fleece Hotel, at 6pm.<\/h4>\n

At this meeting we will launch the new Directory project<\/strong><\/p>\n

We have been helping to \u201cOrange the World\u201d by being part of the United Nations initiative to eradicate violence towards women and girls world wide. We have been meeting at many local cafes wearing orange clothes and scarves and having table top displays to highlight the issue.<\/p>\n

Follow discussions with our region, we have entered into the campaign to eradicate Cervical Cancer by promoting the take up of a vaccine for the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and the take up of screening for cervical cancer by providing information provided by SIGBI and writing to the MP’s\u00a0 who represent members in the area<\/p>\n

We celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Charter of our club with a lunch at the Stratton House Hotel, the venue for the inaugural Charter Lunch<\/p>\n

Other projects the club has promoted in the last few years, including an Anti-Spiking Campaign at the Phoenix Festival, highlighting the dangers of drink spiking, a seminar at the Bingham Hall called \u201cHiding in Plain Sight\u201d about Modern Day Slavery and Human Trafficking, where over 90 people from local charities, councillors and fellow Soroptimists from over the rest of the country heard about this issue, how to spot it in your local area and the extent of the problem. An awareness of the issues raised will be shared; this will help many other people over the coming years to look out for signs of slavery and trafficking.<\/p>\n
