Our innovative STEM events for local schools, for example, have promoted science, technology, engineering and maths to dozens of girls.<\/li>\n<li>we are active in the wider world, supporting disadvantaged people who are trying to improve their lives. For example, we have worked with Mary\u2019s Meals to enhance children\u2019s education through equipment and basic meals.<\/li>\n<li>we have <a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/about-our-club\/friendship-links\/\">links<\/a> with Soroptimist clubs in this country and abroad. We have shared time together through visits and \u2013 recently \u2013 through Zoom calls. Soroptimists value friendship!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_media_grid element_width=&#8221;3&#8243; grid_id=&#8221;vc_gid:1728943026250-a017ccaa-ff0e-4&#8243; include=&#8221;6186,6424,7142,5544&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4>What do our Crosby members value?<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>fun, friendship and making a difference as we work together<\/li>\n<li>lots of interesting members with a variety of backgrounds and experiences<\/li>\n<li>the sense of sisterhood and mutual support that I receive from club<\/li>\n<li>a forward-thinking club &#8211; community service and good social activities<\/li>\n<li>the opportunity to serve<\/li>\n<li>there is an energy to help and enhance the lives of women and girls<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>We took part in a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=N0xTJowe8kI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">video<\/a> about being a Soroptimist &#8211; find out more!<\/h5>\n<h4>When do we meet?<\/h4>\n<p>We meet monthly at the West Lancashire Golf Club for a meal and general catch-up before the main meeting.<\/p>\n<p>In \u2018Covid-times\u2019 we met through Zoom calls and (when permitted) small groups in members\u2019 gardens. We kept in touch with each other and our Secretary sent out a regular lockdown newsletter &#8211; much appreciated.
