\"\"<\/a>It is both an honour and a privilege to serve as President of Soroptimist International Crosby. I feel deeply grateful for the trust placed in me and proud to follow in the footsteps of so many dedicated and inspiring past presidents. Their leadership has shaped a club defined not only by what we achieve, but by how we work – through friendship, kindness, creativity, and a shared commitment to making a difference.<\/p>\n

What makes our club truly special is the strength and diversity of our members. Together, we bring experience, energy and fresh ideas. My aim this year is to build on that foundation – encouraging participation, supporting new members and ensuring that every voice is heard and valued.<\/p>\n

This year, our focus is simple but powerful: to help create communities where women and girls can be safe and be heard.\u00a0Safety is a fundamental human right. Being heard is essential to creating change. Together, they form the foundation of strong, inclusive communities.<\/p>\n

To support this vision, we will focus on advocacy and action – particularly in addressing the causes of violence against women and girls. We recognise the growing impact of online spaces in shaping attitudes and behaviours, and how this can translate into real-world harm.<\/p>\n

Our initiative, \u201cVoices for Respect \u2013 Prevent Violence,\u201d will aim to raise awareness, challenge harmful behaviours and promote respect across our communities. Through creative outreach – such as campaigns in social spaces and engagement with young people in schools – we hope to spark reflection, conversation, and positive change.<\/p>\n

We will also continue to nurture our local environment and community connections through our wildlife and planting projects. By expanding our work in green spaces such as Victoria Park and Lunt Meadows, we create places that bring people together – spaces of wellbeing, reflection, and shared pride.<\/p>\n

Education remains central to everything we do. From grants and mentoring to reading initiatives and STEM projects, we are committed to opening doors and creating opportunities. We will continue to support learning and development for people of all ages, helping to build confidence and future potential.<\/p>\n

Our fundraising efforts will support both our key projects and local charities. We will continue our support for initiatives such as South Sefton Foodbank and Sefton Community Pantry, alongside our ongoing work with valued partners including Crosby Hall Educational Trust and St Joseph\u2019s Hospice.<\/p>\n

I am excited for the year ahead and for the opportunity to work alongside such a committed and inspiring group of members. Together, I am confident we can make a meaningful, positive impact – while enjoying the journey along the\u00a0way.<\/p>\n
