Violence against women and girls (VAWG) happens in every community – including ours<\/h4>\n

It is often hidden, and it is never<\/strong> acceptable.<\/h4>\n
Know the Facts<\/h5>\n
    \n
  • 1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime<\/li>\n
  • Abuse is not always physical – it can be emotional, financial, sexual, or controlling behaviour<\/li>\n
  • It often forms a pattern of control, not a single incident<\/li>\n
  • Anyone can be affected – regardless of age, background, or circumstances<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    Recognise the Signs<\/h5>\n

    Abuse may include someone who:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Controls who you see, where you go, or how you spend money<\/li>\n
    • Monitors your phone or social media<\/li>\n
    • Makes you feel afraid, confused, or \u2018at fault\u2019<\/li>\n
    • Uses threats, intimidation, or manipulation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      If something feels wrong or frightening – trust your instincts. Your feelings are valid<\/p>\n

      Challenge Harmful Behaviour<\/h5>\n
        \n
      • Speak up safely if you witness abusive or controlling behaviour<\/li>\n
      • Challenge jokes, language, or attitudes that normalise harm<\/li>\n
      • Support friends, colleagues, or family members without judgement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        Take Action<\/h5>\n
          \n
        • Check in with someone you\u2019re worried about – a simple \u201cAre you okay?\u201d matters<\/li>\n
        • Share information about support services<\/li>\n
        • If someone is in immediate danger, call 999 (press 55 if you cannot speak)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          • Abuse is never the victim\u2019s fault<\/li>\n
          • You are not alone – help is available<\/li>\n
          • Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
