[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\"\"<\/a>Yes, you can<\/u> have a \u2018virtual\u2019 wine tasting! Thanks to meticulous planning and organisation Crosby\u2019s Soroptimists had a great evening.<\/p>\n

Twenty screens showed members, friends and family poised with stemmed glasses and six mini-bottles of wine at the ready. \u2018Sommelier\u2019 Dave guided everyone through the tastings \u2013 and feedback was lively.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> Warm-up bingo used a no-arguments random-number machine. There was a free raffle \u2013 and even a game of heads\u2018n\u2019tails Covid-style, using masks.<\/p>\n

Quizzes? Of course. No quiz prizes \u2013 all just for fun \u2013 but Soroptimists like a competitive edge. Having everyone muted while the answers were given out was very odd, though \u2013 no heckling!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>On-screen sartorial highlights included Christmas tree\/turkey hats, twinkling neckwear and sequinned jumpers. Seasonal socks were a hidden delight.<\/p>\n

President Chris Chua-Short (in festive red and white) thanked our Soroptimister sommelier and all the other behind-the-scenes organisers.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone entered into the spirit of the evening,\u201d she said. \u201cThis was billed as a chance to relax, get together and have fun: we did just that.
