SI Crosby held a \u2018virtual\u2019 fun and friendship evening to usher in the festive season.<\/p>\n<p>Fun &#8211; puzzles, quizzes, heads\u2019n\u2019tails (with masks), readings and a fiendish set of dingbats. A blast from the past \u2013 Kim\u2019s game \u2013 was challenging!<\/p>\n<p>There were musical interludes from two of the club\u2019s musicians. Jill Boggan presented an atmospheric \u2018In the bleak mid winter\u2019 on the harp, with stunning winter backdrops. Then Ann Dickinson set toes tapping with seasonal favourites on the piano.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=&#8221;white&#8221; border_width=&#8221;5&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_media_grid element_width=&#8221;3&#8243; grid_id=&#8221;vc_gid:1607881753403-c289efec-47f2-5&#8243; include=&#8221;4877,4876,4874,4873&#8243;][vc_column_text]There were breakout sessions where small groups could chat easily. Plus, everyone congratulated Clare Baxter on 30 years\u2019 Soroptimist service.<\/p>\n<p>President Chris read out a letter of thanks from Ruth Baldwin, Headteacher at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.waterlooprimaryschool.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Waterloo Primary School<\/a>. SI Crosby has funded laptops at this local school to support pupils\u2019 home-learning when they are self-isolating. The club is also hoping to fund some more.<\/p>\n<p>Club\u2019s executive team had generously provided Christmas hampers which were raffled at the party. Over \u00a3300 was raised for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitechapelcentre.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Whitechapel Centre<\/a> in Liverpool.<\/p>\n<p>Co-ordinated by Linda Key, many members worked behind the scenes to make the party a success. President Chris upped her technical knowledge in order to fit all the elements together.
