Members are making a quilt.<\/p>\n<p>The quilt will be featured in the run-up to the \u2018virtual\u2019 conference of <a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Soroptimist International, Great Britain &amp; Ireland<\/a> (SIGBI) in Llandudno.<\/p>\n<p>The design is \u2018Friendship Star\u2019 using the American 9-patch system. Traditional Soroptimist \u2018colours\u2019 of blue and yellow are included in the pattern.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=&#8221;white&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_media_grid element_width=&#8221;3&#8243; grid_id=&#8221;vc_gid:1633972889070-d224dae6-3ab5-10&#8243; include=&#8221;5608,5600,5601,5602&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Led by experienced crafter Laurel Byrne of <a href=\"https:\/\/treasurequilt.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Treasure Quilt<\/a>, the Soroptimists pieced together the motifs. For several, this was a whole new skill to learn. Laurel will now apply the wadding and the backing fabric to create the quilt.<\/p>\n<p>Sandy Taylor came up with the original idea and suggested it to her fellow members. \u201cFor several years we put our sewing skills to good use, raising funds for charities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSI Crosby is therefore delighted to sponsor this special quilt. We shall soon set up a fundraising initiative.
