{"id":5703,"date":"2021-11-26T23:07:13","date_gmt":"2021-11-26T22:07:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/?p=5703"},"modified":"2021-11-26T23:12:21","modified_gmt":"2021-11-26T22:12:21","slug":"tree-mendous-soroptimists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/2021\/11\/26\/tree-mendous-soroptimists\/","title":{"rendered":"Tree-mendous Soroptimists"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Crosby&#8217;s Soroptimists have, once again, set up a tree as part of the Christmas Tree Festival at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stfaithsgreatcrosby.org.uk\/pagetwo.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">St Faith&#8217;s Church<\/a>, Crosby.<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/files\/2021\/11\/Soroptimists-at-Christmas-Tree-Festival-2021.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-5704\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/files\/2021\/11\/Soroptimists-at-Christmas-Tree-Festival-2021-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"232\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/files\/2021\/11\/Soroptimists-at-Christmas-Tree-Festival-2021-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/files\/2021\/11\/Soroptimists-at-Christmas-Tree-Festival-2021.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/a>The theme this year is in line with President Chris Smith&#8217;s focus &#8211; our links with <a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/our-projects\/waterloo-primary-school\/\">Waterloo Primary School<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Children in Year 5 made decorations for the tree. Several featured <a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/2021\/01\/28\/soroptimists-invest-in-education\/\">laptops<\/a>, for which we raised funds during lockdown. The children used the computers while learning at home.<\/p>\n<p>President Chris said: &#8220;The Christmas Tree Festival gives our Soroptimist club the opportunity to showcase a little of our practical service in the community.<a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/files\/2021\/11\/Soroptimist-Christmas-Tree.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-5708\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/files\/2021\/11\/Soroptimist-Christmas-Tree-243x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"243\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/files\/2021\/11\/Soroptimist-Christmas-Tree-243x300.jpg 243w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/files\/2021\/11\/Soroptimist-Christmas-Tree.jpg 831w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 243px) 100vw, 243px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Last year the festival was online.
