Crosby Soroptimists\u2019 AGM was the regular opportunity to look back over a busy year and look forward with enthusiasm.<\/h5>\n

Outgoing President Margaret Davidson reflected on her time in office. \u201cI\u2019m still learning the job of President after 12 months of doing it,\u201c she said. Former presidents know the feeling!<\/p>\n

The club\u2019s ongoing projects merited many compliments. Crosby\u2019s members have continued extensive practical service and fundraising, plus links with partners in the community and with other Soroptimist clubs at home and abroad.<\/p>\n

Proud of leading SI Crosby, Margaret is of the opinion that \u201c\u2026 it is our great strength as a club is that we embrace changes and adapt to them.\u201d Her overall verdict? \u201cChallenging but thoroughly enjoyable.\u201d[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”white”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_media_grid grid_id=”vc_gid:1683471174203-628f9ad7-b3bc-6″ include=”6332,6331,6334″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Incoming President Jill Boggan spoke about her hopes for the year ahead \u2013 continuing much of the club\u2019s effective project work. Jill also hopes members will engage in initiatives on sustainability in the world of fashion, support for new mothers and the provision of public-access bleed control kits.<\/p>\n

Jill paid tribute to members\u2019 resilience and determination to succeed. \u201cIt can sometimes feel like the world is unfamiliar and upside down \u2013 perhaps as if we are observing the world like Lewis Carroll\u2019s Alice did – \u2018through the looking glass.\u2019 \u2026 As Soroptimists we have all faced the challenges of the last few years with our own unique version of an inner Alice.\u201d<\/p>\n

There is distinct optimism, however. \u201cOur club demonstrates that the whole is better than the sum of the parts,\u201d said Jill. \u201cI hope we have many opportunities to celebrate both past and present achievements during the year.\u201d<\/p>\n
