{"id":6685,"date":"2023-11-17T17:24:10","date_gmt":"2023-11-17T16:24:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/?p=6685"},"modified":"2023-11-17T17:24:53","modified_gmt":"2023-11-17T16:24:53","slug":"festive-foodbank","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/2023\/11\/17\/festive-foodbank\/","title":{"rendered":"Festive Foodbank"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>Crosby Soroptimists have once again made a special effort in support of their local foodbank.<\/h5>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/files\/2023\/11\/foodbank-donations-in-trolley.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-6687\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/files\/2023\/11\/foodbank-donations-in-trolley.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"231\" height=\"231\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/files\/2023\/11\/foodbank-donations-in-trolley.jpg 231w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/crosby\/files\/2023\/11\/foodbank-donations-in-trolley-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 231px) 100vw, 231px\" \/><\/a>At a recent meeting, members brought in festive goodies, to be added to the foodbank&#8217;s bags in the run-up to Christmas.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/southsefton.foodbank.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">South Sefton Foodbank<\/a> is part of The Trussell Trust&#8217;s nationwide network. Each foodbank gives three days\u2019 nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred as being in crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Soroptimist Chris Chua-Short, a volunteer at the foodbank, said &#8220;Our club supports the foodbank all year round. However, we always try to donate special items at this time of year.
