Flowers sprang from teapots and \u2013 \u201ccuriouser and curiouser\u201d &#8211; dormice peeped through the foliage.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=&#8221;white&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_media_grid element_width=&#8221;3&#8243; grid_id=&#8221;vc_gid:1712135294354-1d3379bf-d990-10&#8243; include=&#8221;6829,6827,6825,6845&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Club President Jill Boggan introduced representatives from Sefton Baby Baskets &#8211; the charity\u2019s founder Gill Ruane and her colleague Sue Hall. This local organisation has been highlighted as part of SI Crosby\u2019s community action this year. Guests were able to hear from Gill about its impact on mothers \u2013 and all could admire one of the baskets full of essentials for a new family.<\/p>\n<p>SI Crosby welcomed Pam Wright, SI South Lancashire Region President as a special guest. Members were also delighted that Soroptimists from clubs in Liverpool, Keighley, Southport, Manchester and Grange-over-Sands, plus Crosby Lions President Tom Tyson and his wife Sue, came to the celebration.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=&#8221;white&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_media_grid element_width=&#8221;3&#8243; grid_id=&#8221;vc_gid:1712135294359-52c66225-dfbf-4&#8243; include=&#8221;6837,6835,6836,6834&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]For three club members the event was extra special. Sheila Chatterton and Cynthia Ashworth each celebrated 30 years as Soroptimists. To complete the trio, Jane Daly\u2019s \u2018golden day\u2019 had come \u2013 50 years of service to Soroptimism and the Crosby club. All received their long-service certificates from Region President Pam &#8211; and for Jane, a golden cake.<\/p>\n<p>President Jill and her team planned and plotted, created and cajoled to achieve the White Queen\u2019s \u201csix impossible things\u201d on the day.
