<\/a>Soroptimist international was instrumental in promoting Scotland as a fair trade country and Sevenoaks town as a fair trade town. Many of its members are involved in\u00a0churchs and\u00a0schools with their\u00a0\u00a0campaigns to become fair trade\u00a0 and raise awareness.<\/p>\nFair trade continues to under pin all we do and and is an integral part of our thinking and we actively support free trade week by means of talks, tasting evenings and coffee mornings.<\/p>\n
Fair trade is more than a luxury it is a way of\u00a0\u00a0life bringing Education and health care to the deprived by means of its premium and raising living standards and human and\u00a0\u00a0womens rights to work in good conditions for a fair wage.<\/p>\n
Last year we celebrated 40 years of the Traidcraft Family at Grace & Sue\u2019s \u2018annual Big Fairtrade Brew\u2019. Raising money and enjoying a fantastic array of delicious home-made cakes and accompanying Fairtrade coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The Fairtrade theme this year is to work with local producers in order to get more of the women, who are involved in the production of the food, to have more ownership of the land and plants, as very often they do not own these and will not get all the benefits for their hard work.<\/p>\n
