The sun shone and the money rolled in when members sold bric-a-brac at the Rotary Gala Charity Stall event in Dundee City Square. Over £320 was raised for education and vocational training projects for women and girls in South Kolkata, India.
This project continues to grow today 2 yrs on – links with SI Kolkata are stronger than ever – our ambassador member Dianne Stout has got colleague member support through helping produce learning resources for the school that SISK are working on. The resources are for the Free School project where the chidren are learning to read and count – Dianne is all set to hear the chanting of the ‘times tables’ we all did when we were at school. Dianne is visiting the club within the next few weeks – at SI Dundee we wish her and her husband Brian a safe journey and good luck with the project and have fun wiith the children. This project fits well with our new internal theme Education.
