Bernie Arnott, researcher in Augmentative and Alternative Communications was able to tell members of Soroptimist International of Dundee that the Scottish government have recently awarded a grant of £4 million to make signage and all documents relating to health matters in the Area more accessible to people with literacy and English language issues. She showed us how information will be shown in the form of pictures and gave us the opportunity to both ‘read’ the pictures and attempt to develop meaningful pictures of our own. The ultimate aim is to make Scotland the first inclusive communication country.
