Our club website, as with all the clubs across the Federation, has been undergoing an upgrade which has meant we were unable to put up regular club news. Here is a snapshot of President Frances’ busy year.
June 2019
The Region meeting and AGM were held in the Invercarse Hotel in June.

August
On August 4th, SI Dundee members joined members from SI Perth and Crieff for a litter pick at Tulloch in Perth. A busy afternoon and opportunity to work with other local clubs.
Garden Party
One of our members invited the club to a Garden Party at her home at Invergowrie House. A hat was the required dress code for what was supposed to be a lovely outdoor event in glorious summer sunshine… unfortunately the weather wasn’t good.
September
On September 3rd, to start the new Soroptimist year off, the club met for a meal in the Hotel Indigo. This was well attended and a good opportunity to catch up.
October 15th
Claire Bee gave a presentation to the club about Just Bee Productions. The club were so enthused by Claire’s work they agreed to promote Just Bee productions in March as part of Dundee Women’s Festival.
Christmas Lunch
This was a well attended event held at the Invercarse Hotel.
As Prue, one of our past Presidents, had recently celebrated a significant birthday she was presented with a lovely basket of flowers at the lunch.
Christmas Outing
Several members gathered at Dundee Rep to see an excellent production of Oor Wullie – the musical. This was followed by followed by afternoon tea at the Queen’s Hotel.
The club members decided to help some of the local Dundee children through buying gifts for them at Christmas.
March 2020
On March 3rd, Gordon Sharp was the club speaker. Gordon is the Locum Minister and Community Worker at Dundee West Church. The title of Gordon’s Talk was ‘Making Dundee Home’- a Dundee West Church initiative.

Several members took part in this annual collection. Tesco in Monifeith was the venue.
Dundee Women’s Festival
SI Dundee member, Prue Watson, is Chair of Dundee Festival.
In March, just before the current coronavirus pandemic lockdown hit, Dundee Soroptimists sponsored a show by Just Bee Productions as part of Dundee Women’s festival. It was a terrific evening and very well attended and well received.
