Welcome to SI Dunfermline<\/h1>\n

Who ar<\/strong><\/em>e we?<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

Soroptimists educate, empower<\/strong><\/em> and enable women and girls<\/strong> <\/em>to achieve their potential.<\/p>\n

We are friendly group of like-minded women who bring a wealth of knowledge and life experience to\u00a0 our club.\u00a0 Committed to\u00a0 improving the lives of women and girls across the world through our volunteering and project work.<\/p>\n

The club is one of 7 clubs within Scotland South Region of our Federation.<\/p>\n

Where and When we Meet<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

September to\u00a0 June – Carnegie Conference Centre, Fife College Learning Campus, Calaiswood Crescent, Dunfermline KY11 8SJ – 7pm. \u00a0http:\/\/www.carnegieconferencecente.co.uk\/<\/p>\n

2nd\u00a0 and 4th Thursday September to November.<\/p>\n

January and February\u00a0 Zoom meetings<\/p>\n

2nd and 4th Thursday March to June.<\/p>\n

We have a varied and interesting programme of speakers and activities. Details are on the meetings schedule page of the website.<\/p>\n

As well as our regular meeting we also meet socially for coffee and friendship and get involved in local charities and events.<\/p>\n

What we are doing this year-2026<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

We are looking forward to a varied programme this year.\u00a0 We will focus on mental health particularly on young women and those affected by the pandemic.\u00a0 We are also planning to focus on women’s health for our International Women’s Day event.\u00a0 As usual we will be supporting our local charities and causes like the Dunfermline Foodbank, Dunfermline Children’s Clothing Bank , Friends of Queen Margaret Hospital and Smalls for All.\u00a0 As a club we are part of the Fife Violence Against Women Network and will be taking part in the 16 Days of Activism on Gender Based Violence in November\/December and striding out at the Reclaim the Night March on the 2nd of December.\u00a0 Our usual informal coffee meet ups will continue<\/p>\n

Local Charities.<\/h2>\n

Aberlour Children’s Charity<\/h3>\n

We partnered with Aberlour Children’s Charity to run a pop up charity shop in February 2025.\u00a0 This was a lot of work but a great success with \u00a33000 raised in total with \u00a32000 going to Aberlour and also brought us a couple of new members.<\/p>\n

Dunfermline Foodbank<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our support for the local foodbank in Dunfermline<\/strong> will\u00a0 continue with our monthly donation of items needed. We also help our with food drives in local supermarkets.<\/p>\n

Smalls for All<\/strong><\/p>\n

We collect new and gently used bras and new pants for Scottish Charity Smalls for All. http:\/\/www.smallsforall.org<\/a>. Two of our members volunteer at Smalls for All sorting and opening donations.\u00a0 More volunteers are always welcome. please contact us for more information.<\/p>\n

Litter Picks and Beach Cleans<\/h3>\n

When we can, we take part in the litter picks organised by Plastic Free Dunfermline and Plastic Free Dalgety Bay. We also take part with the Charleston, Limekilns and Pattiesmuir Nature Group in beach cleans organised by them.<\/p>\n

Dunfermline Children’s Clothing Bank<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We are delighted to support the children’s clothing bank with donations and they also act as a collection point for us for Smalls for All.<\/p>\n

Campaigning<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Using our Facebook page we will be taking part in the 16 days of activism campaign (25th November – 10th December).\u00a0 This is raising awareness of the Orange the World Campaign which highlights violence against women.<\/p>\n

Rwenzori Project<\/h3>\n

We continue to support our long term project in the Rwenzori Region of Uganda.\u00a0 Following recent devastating floods and landslides we were able to send some emergency money to help those in need.<\/p>\n

Summer Fun<\/em><\/h2>\n

A barbecue is being hosted by Anne Evan- Wong on the 9th of August which we are all looking forward to.<\/p>\n
