This year,\u00a0 the 16 Days of Activism involved a huge campaign\u00a0 on social media in raising awareness.\u00a0 Each day carried a specific message such as action against Trafficking, FGM, Child Marriage\u00a0 and the Abolition of Modern Day Slavery. As well as our own posts,\u00a0 we shared posts from the 3 domestic abuse charities we are supporting, True Honour, East Surrey Domestic Abuse Services and Reigate and Banstead Women’s Aid.<\/p>\n

Our Orange the World Flyer promoted the event and had links to information produced by the UN on the Shadow Pandemic, signs of domestic abuse and how to signpost victims to appropriate agencies and organisations. A generic version of the poster has now been included in the SIGBI Toolkit for the 16 Days of Activism.SI Epsom & District Orange the World Flyer<\/a><\/p>\n

Orange badges were worn at meetings throughout the 16 Days of Activism.<\/p>\n

Club members came together to mark the occasion by reading excerpts from stories and poems that the 3 charities posted on social media and on their websites.\u00a0 The words and photos were collated to produce this video presentation: SI Epsom & District- Survivors In their own words<\/a><\/p>\n
