[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Members of Soroptimist International of Falkirk are actively involved in a range of projects \u2013 locally, nationally and internationally \u2013 supporting women and girls to achieve their full potential.<\/p>\n

Every member contributes in their own way.\u00a0 This includes donating goods, supporting fundraising events and most importantly in the last 18 months supporting each other and staying connected.<\/p>\n

Local Charity support, 2023 \/24<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

Our local charity for this year is Forth Valley Women & Children Bereavement Team \/ SANDs (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death) charity<\/span><\/p>\n

International Charity support 2023\/24<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Our international charity for this year is Starchild, a Glasgow-based charity which supports the health, education and wellbeing of women and children in Uganda<\/p>\n

Young Care Leavers<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

60 young people were given gift sets of toiletries, each with a handwritten message, at Christmas time. One young person wro<\/span>te of the positive effect it had at a difficult time.<\/p>\n

16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

Participated in the launch at Forth Valley College Stirling Campus, provided a display at Falkirk college in support of the campaign<\/span><\/p>\n

Jams and Preserves<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

Members generously supported Fiona Richardson as she sold Jams and Preserves made from home-grown produce.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bantaskin\u00a0<\/strong>Rainbows \/ <\/strong>Brownies \/ Guides\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Hosted an evening of Christmas activities and crafts<\/p>\n

A regular and friendly members’ craft-group meeting fortnightly to collaborate in the production of multiple handmade items which have including trauma teddies, twiddle muffs, hospice heart, bereavement cribs, blankets, cannula sleeves, syringe-driver bags, breast cancer cushions, post-mastectomy support-cushions, worry-worms & hug-hearts<\/p>\n
