{"id":546,"date":"2018-03-11T00:53:50","date_gmt":"2018-03-11T00:53:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/folkestone\/?p=546"},"modified":"2018-03-11T02:58:37","modified_gmt":"2018-03-11T02:58:37","slug":"march-2018-invitations-to-launch-of-the-inspirational-woman-of-the-year-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/folkestone\/2018\/03\/11\/march-2018-invitations-to-launch-of-the-inspirational-woman-of-the-year-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Invitation to  Launch of the Inspirational Woman of the Year 2018 &#8211; February 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-510\" src=\"\/folkestone\/files\/2018\/02\/download-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"298\" height=\"169\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To celebrate\u00a0<span style=\"color: #800080\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.internationalwomensday.com\/\">International Women&#8217;s Day,\u00a0<\/a><\/span>\u00a0Soroptimist International Folkestone, we invite you join us at our launch event for Shepway\u2019s Inspirational Woman of the Year 2018, at Holiday Extras Campus, The Wave, Newingreen, Hythe, Kent, CT21 4JF on Thursday 8<sup>th<\/sup> March from 4pm until 6pm.<\/p>\n<p>International Women\u2019s Day was first launched in 1911 and is not specific to any country or <span style=\"color: #800080\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">organisation<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0 The 2018 campaign theme is <strong>#Press for Progress <\/strong>which, as Soroptimists is something we support.\u00a0 Soroptimists International strive to improve the lives of women and girls through Enabling Educating and Empowering women and girls and we:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">believe achievement comes in many different forms<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">value women\u2019s individual and collaborative success<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">ensure credit is given for women\u2019s contribution<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">celebrate women\u2019s role and their journeys<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">showcase women\u2019s successes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With these themes in mind, we are looking to recognise a woman from within Shepway who has made an inspirational contribution, this could be in either a community or professional perspective, and the award will be presented in May 2018.\u00a0 Please come along to find out more about Shepway\u2019s Inspirational Woman of the Year 2018 and how to nominate either your colleagues, women from within the community or yourself for this award.
