Hilary Ratcliffe – International Director of Programme

Hilary’s PowerPoint presentation

In our dreams everything is possible. So never underestimate Soroptimists’ global reach. We are a force to be reckoned with, we have more members than there are employees of BP.

How would you describe who we are in two floors of a lift ride?

International Women’s Day highlights so well what we stand for ‘Soroptimists Worldwide speak out’.

Our global reach extends across many partnerships, which gives us the global voice. But how do we make our global voice heard? Our NGO Status to UN is so important; SI has had General Status since 1996 and SIGBI has had Special Status since 2013. This gives us the opportunity to talk, face to face, with the Head of UN Women and to have many UN representatives around the world.

We work tirelessly to bring the Voice of Women to the table. Our street cred is based on the work we do. BUT, this has to be evidenced through PA forms! We need to realise how important these forms are.

The Global Review will be published in the near future. Please read it! Do you regularly read the Global Voice on the website for updates?

Remember, without our members we have no voice, we are a grassroots organisation – is your voice being heard?

“If you want to go fast – go alone; if you want to go far – go together”
