[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”6747″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes”][vc_column_text]October has seen lots of celebrations of our Platinum Anniversary with P for Party with Personality featuring this month. At the Club meeting we had a “Fifties Food and Fashion”\u00a0 evening as our club was founded in 1954.<\/p>\n

On October 19th we had a delicious\u00a0 Charter lunch at Holker Hall\u00a0 where we were welcomed by Lady Cavendish and enjoyed the company of other Soroptimists, Alice and Janna\u00a0 from Prague,\u00a0\u00a0 Soroptimists from NW Region, our previous Club members and Ruth Healey SIGBI President. Maria Benjamin a local business woman and farmer\u00a0 gave us a very inspiring\u00a0 insight into her work on a farm diversifying making soap and Lake District Tweed<\/a>, helping her local community and\u00a0 helping women in Nepal develop their soap business.<\/p>\n

Sarah French Editor of Cumbria Life was on hand taking photos and\u00a0 lighting a candle for Peace. The lunch rounded off with an amusing\u00a0 musical number\u00a0 accompanied by a flute.<\/p>\n

The rest of the weekend included an outing in the Lakes with our Prague visitors and suppers in members homes.<\/p>\n
