[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”6807″ img_size=”Lare” add_caption=”yes”][vc_column_text]Grange Soroptimists marked International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women by tying ribbons on the gates of Cartmel Priory with each ribbon representing a donation to Women\u2019s Aid<\/a>, a charity working to prevent Domestic Violence and support victims. Its not too late to get a ribbon tied on. Just go to our Just Giving page<\/a>. They were joined by Rev Nick Devenish,\u00a0 pupils from Cartmel Priory School, members of the public and\u00a0 other Soroptimists from the North West including Regional President Val Moss.<\/p>\n

There are 16 Days of Activism organised by the United Nations with buildings all over the world lit up in Orange\u00a0 in solidarity with the campaign.<\/p>\n

In South Cumbria Cartmel Priory and Barrow Town Hall will be lit for the 16 days and the Hoad in Ulverston only 25th Nov and 10th Dec.<\/p>\n

We continued our Orange theme with an Orange the World arrangement at our Creative Christmas Flower Demonstration with Joan Bentley and our Orange tree at St Paul’s Christmas Tree exhibition with the theme Light in the\u00a0 Darkness. We also wrote in support of women with the Amnestu International Write for Rights campaign.<\/p>\n
