{"id":7014,"date":"2025-07-27T15:25:28","date_gmt":"2025-07-27T14:25:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/grange-over-sands\/?p=7014"},"modified":"2025-08-06T18:10:32","modified_gmt":"2025-08-06T17:10:32","slug":"how-did-grange-soroptimists-help-victims-of-torture-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/grange-over-sands\/2025\/07\/27\/how-did-grange-soroptimists-help-victims-of-torture-2\/","title":{"rendered":"How did Grange Soroptimists help Victims of Torture?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;7018&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; add_caption=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]Grange Soroptimists once again have collected items like old mobile phones, I Pads, jewellery,\u00a0 cameras, stamps, old curency and Sat Navs\u00a0 to send off for recycling to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.recyclingforgoodcauses.org\/\">Recycling for Good Causes<\/a>, raising funds for<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomfromtorture.org\/\"> Freedom from Torture<\/a>,\u00a0 a charity supporting victims of torture who have fled to the UK.<\/p>\n<p>We added the last few items\u00a0 to our sack when members met for coffee at the Bay Horse, Canal Foot, Ulverston where we posed for a photo with the beautiful view in the background!<\/p>\n<p>We collected a staggering 25 Kg of items which would otherwise have been thrown out.
